"Video game design, Wouldn't you rather make some real money being a doctor or a lawyer?" most people would say. Simply, being a doctor and a lawyer seems to boring and unoriginal. I like to be creative and use my imagination. As a video game designer I would get to use the full extent of my imagination to create something truly unique. The amount of ingenuity used to be a game designer is the same if not more than I would use to be a doctor or a lawyer. For example, a doctor would need to know the symptoms of a disease, but a game designer would have to create the disease, how the patients got it, and somehow tie it into the bigger plot of the story.
As for money, a project leader can make well into the triple digits, and that is the level that I would like to achieve. I know how much work it would take and I know that it is a tough position to get. But the field is growing ever larger and I have no problem with working hard for long hours.
