The Country Of Tainted Water

The small country of Haiti has been through so much over the years. Whether it is the lack of government, lack of capital, or the devastating effects of malnutrition and disease, the one real problem that has plagued the Haitians is the lack of clean water. Hundreds and thousands of people die every year, making Haiti virtually a death camp of a country, Lack of money is really the main concern; there just isn't enough capital to provide the Haitians with the proper water management throughout the entire country.
Many countries have helped the small 27,500 sq. km country. The United States first occupied Haiti in 1915, which led to changes in the public health field. The US has also helped with the nation's water problem with the US Army Corps of Engineers, building bridges and dams. Other countries have set up funds to send to Haiti as well. Many micro-banks have been set up to start up a new economy in hopes of stopping the poverty level from rising.
