Campaign Songs
The following essay will propose a campaign song for the current California State Treasurer and a democratic candidate for California State governor, Phil Angelides. In campaigning it is very important that you have a strong theme song. A catchy theme song can capture the attention of voters and attract more attention toward a candidates’ campaign. Songs may introduce new demographics of voters, such as the younger generation . It is important not to select anything that may offend a certain demographic, so it does become tricky in choosing the right song. For instance, by selecting a song that is new age or hip-hop, you may turn off many older and more conservative voters, while choosing an old classic country song may result in the loss of interest in younger voters. I have chosen a song that appeals to old and new voters, “One Vision” by the legendary rock group Queen.
