Look How Rich we are Together

In Micere Githae Mugo's poem, "Look How Rich we are Together" is one that brings the tone of mood to a good place. This poem deals with love and compassion and not worrying about anything but eachother. In the first stanza, it is very easy to understand that this woman is so thankful to have a man like she has. "You taught me how to laugh even as tears scorched my burning throat (Lines 5-8)." In relation to this quote, you see that this man was always there for her and was able to make her feel better during bad times and helped her to look at the positive side of things rather than the negative.
In the second stanza, she speaks about how her lover has given her everything such as "a fortune that gave birth to our present treasure bank and in time you taught me to deposit not to take all the time (lines 10-16)." Mugo is trying to compare money and love in this quote. She is saying that their fortune could be looked at as their relationship and......
