Throughout my life I have noticed different personality traits that I picked up from my parent, siblings, and my surroundings. I think the surroundings you grow up in play a key role in the development of your personality. My environment has influenced me in many ways, but there is one particular place that has made major impact on my life, Seattle, Washington. Their strong and diverse ethnic heritage influenced me and taught me to keep an open mind and listen to others’ ideas and beliefs.
As long as I can remember my uncle, Bernie Potter, has lived in Seattle. The first time I visited was when my uncle was getting married, which made the trip even more memorable. I was shocked when I arrived by the diversity of people, mountains, lakes, and just the city in general.
