Environmentalists win one against Bush
The article I read was "Environmentalists win one against Bush" by the CNNMoney.com. This article explains the ruling by the Supreme Court that the United States Environmental Protection Agency has the authority to regulate greenhouse gas emissions that can cause global warming (CNNMoney.com). This lawsuit against the Environmental Protection Agency was brought on by many states and various environmental groups. "President George W. Bush has opposed mandatory controls on greenhouse gases as harmful to the U.S. economy, and the administration has called for voluntary programs instead of regulation. The states and environmental groups that brought the lawsuit hailed the ruling" (CNNMoney.com). This ruling by the Supreme Court is very important, in that it sets a precedent for environmental matters that President Bush has decided not to pursue.
