The play "Macbeth" is about uncontrolled ambition. Discuss.

In the tragic play "Macbeth" written by William Shakespeare, the play shows the struggle of one man's determination to become the leader of Scotland. Whether he does for good or for evil. The play is certainly about uncontrolled ambition and the corruption that it causes. However it is evident that the ambition that goes with characters in the play can be resisted and used for good, which eventually triumphs over evil. Macbeth's lack of thinking about the consequences for the murders that he commits eventually lead to his downfall, due to the fact that he was hated by almost everyone in Scotland. Lady Macbeth also contributes to Macbeth's ambition by persuading him to murder Duncan. It is shown that uncontrolled ambition can win over heroes, which leads to the destruction of a country and the individuals in it.
