Liposuction, also known as lipoplasty is a cosmetic surgery operation that removes fat from many different locations on the human body. The areas that are affected can range from the stomach, thighs, butt, neck, backs of the arms and other places where there is a problem. The fat is usually removed by a cannula (a hollow tube) and aspirator (a suction device.) Liposuction is a form of body shaping with significant attendant risks and is not a weight loss method.
