The research discussed in the annotation is an article which had nee published by The Toronto Star regarding students being truant during a strike held in 2001 of support workers in the TDSB. A main research point which is evident, or is in relation to our topic of study, is it discusses the effect of peers on teenagers' attendance habits during the time of the strike. It was found that in order not to loose face in front of their peers, many students who wished to stay in school and further there education would become pressured to the extent were they had no choice but to skip. Another important research note to point is that if leaders or those who run a certain social group, or peer group, considers attending class ‘uncool', then other members belonging to the peer group will be affected by the leaders' attitudes.
