Canada And Its Government
There have been times in Canada’s history where no political government has emerged from an election with a clear majority. Of the many critics in the parliamentary system, some say that the minority government is too ineffective to govern the second largest country in the world, Canada. It could be easily “toppled by a simple vote of non-confidence.” On the contrary, a minority government could work together co-operatively with opposition governments, especially the Official Opposition Party. Because a minority government could be voted down easily by the opposition parties, it needs to develop good relationship with other parties and it will also force them to stay alert and keep on top of what they are doing and to establish the trust with its citizens.
