In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, the main conflicts contribute to the theme ‘man is evil.’ The three conflicts that develop this theme is the conflict between Jack and Ralph, the conflict to survive on the island, and the conflict between Ralph and himself. The novel Lord of The Flies, tells a story about how young children would cope without civilization. At the beginning, the boys who crashed on the island were together. They worked together and assigned jobs for each other, including hunting and keeping the signal fire going so they could be rescued. As their time on the island went on, conflicts began to rise between Ralph and Jack, the boys and the island, and Ralph and himself.
