1. James Braddock’s life in the 1920’s before the stock market crashed was easy living. His family had a nice house with everything they wanted. James was winning fights and his children had plenty of food to eat. But in the 1930’s after the depression James had to sell everything he had to stay out of poverty. He and his family are living in an apartment and struggle everyday to make rent, electric, and food for the family. Spirits are crushed and they need some motivation to keep them going.
