The Tobacco Industry in Bangladesh is now one of the most profitable sectors in the manufacturing industries. BATB mainly targets the .higher and middle income people and clearly is the market leader in both these segments. It’s a highly profitable company and contributes a lot to the economy. But it does face a few problems and as it’s a controversial business, it faces a lot of criticism too.

But as part of its attempt to resist regulation, BAT has promoted itself as a responsible company. It has done this in several ways like taking social welfare projects like forestation and literacy programs. But there are scopes for development in this segment for BATB.
