Steve Kowit and his Grammar Lesson
My poet is Steve Kowit, who wrote The Grammar Lesson. Kowit has a unique style of writing. He uses a fun light poem to teach grammar and then he has a whole other side to him that is heavy and dark. He has gone to three different colleges and graduated all of them and has received his B.A. degree from Brooklyn College, Master of Arts San Francisco State College, and a Mater of Fine Arts degree Warren Wilson College. Kowit teaches at the Southwestern College located in Chula Vista, which shows that education is important to him. Steve Kowit teaches inside the classroom and out of the class room with his poetry.
