Summary Of "A Dolls House"

The play "A Dolls House" is written by Henrik Ibsen. The setting of the play is in the Helmer's house, and the plat is written in third person limited- to Nora- point of view. The protagonist and/or main character is Nora. The theme of the play is learning to take care of yourself.Ibsen wrote this play to infrom women that they can be independent.
Throughout the play, Nora is trying to be independent but, she has always depended on someone to take care of her. First it was her father and now it is her husband. Torvald. In act 1 of the play, Nora and Mrs.Linde have a conversation in which Nora explains to Mrs.Linde how she "saved her husbands life". Some of the things Nora and Mrs.Linde said in the conversation helped identify how childish Nora is and what she thinks being ndependent is all about. Nora said, "I told you about our trip to Italy.
