Martin Luther King jr. ( Bild: siehe Anhang 1 ) wird am 15. 1. 1929 in
Atlanta, Georgia, U.S.A., als ältester Sohn von Martin Luther King
Senior, einem baptistischen Pfarrer, und Alberta Williams King, einer
Lehrerin, geboren. Aufgrund eines Missverständnisses, das sich erst 28
Jahren später aufklärt, ist er zunächst als Michael Luther King beim
Einwohnermeldeamt von Atlanta registriert.[1] "Er besuchte von 1935 -
1944 Grundschule und Highschool und trat mit 15 Jahren in das
Morehouse College ein."[2] 1946 wird King zum Baptistenpfarrer
geweiht, außerdem entwickelt er sein Konzept des gewaltlosen
Widerstandes und des friedlichen Protests gegen die Diskriminierung
der schwarzen Bevölkerung in den USA nach den Lehren von Mahatma
Gandhi.[3] "Trotz des Schutzes, den sein Elternhaus ihm gab, blieben
ihm schlimme und niederdrückende Erfahrungen nicht erspart."[4] Die
