In the movie, Kissing Jessica Stein, Jessica Stein, a single girl in the city, is tired of being

alone. In a moment of desperation, she answers Helen's personal ad looking for a new "friend."

The two quickly become friends and get more than Jessica ever bargained for when their

friendship turns into a full blown romantic relationship.

Jessica is a sensitive New York journalist who is tired of being alone. She's been told

she's too picky when it comes to relationships and wants to make a change. When she sees

Helen's personal ad, she's a little hesitant, at first, because she's never answered an ad before,

and especially not a homosexual one. She starts to wonder if she's as straight as she really thinks
