A Brief Look Into The Destruction Of Rainforests
Research shows that the earth has lost 8% of its 15% coverage of rainforests. Some of the tactics used by loggers such as burning logged sites off create huge environmental problems. Medicines that come from the rainforests will become non existent if we continue. The destruction affects agriculture and living arrangements for the poor and for those living from the land and in the forest. It also creates a hostile living environment for the people who are trying to help save the rainforests.
Every year we destroy more than 60 00kmsq of our rainforests. With Africa being one of the worst in the world due to illegal loggers. On the Ivory Coast in Africa the 30 million acres from 25 years ago that it had in rainforests has now been reduced to 10 million acres. 90% of that timber went to Europe and Africa uses 5 million kmsq for firewood every year.
