The movie begins as Captain Mandrake and General Jack Ripper are discussing the fact that the General has put the base on code red. The B-52 bombers which are taking this command are explained to have 50 megatons of nuclear bombs. As the men inside the B-52 bomber believe at first, like Mandrake that the code red must be a drill, because of the alarm in their voices and actions. They are told to engage in “wing attack plan R” and they open a safe that contains each member’s instructions. They all seem stunned and continually check back that this is indeed the plan they are supposed to engage in. Major Kong leads the group in the B-52 and gives them a speech that included his predictions that the men aboard their plane would all receive medals and citations.
We see how important this event is yet again as General Turgidson is summoned. General Turgidson was clearly not in the mood to deal with his position now, as he had a half naked girl tanning by light in his room. He......
