Reflections Document
I found this document to be unorganized and convoluted, however very informative and somewhat interesting. Written in 1945, the style was confusing and difficult to follow. British author Radford used unfamiliar expressions such as: Bully for canned beef and Treacle for molasses. Terms like Oflags, (short for Offizierslagers, these are POW camps for officers) and BRCS is the (British Red Cross Society) were used without clear explanations. Other examples of statements used are:
• Money is clipped when metal is trimmed from the edges of coins.
• It is sweated when heat is applied to remove the metal.
• Points are electrical contacts.
• BMk.s are Bully Marks (Paper money made by shop owners in the prison and the Senior British Officer set the price controls).
• RMk’s are Reichsmarks
I also found it to be very repetitive. I thought he attempted to look at the issues from various points of few. However, they all said the same thing. For an example......
