Hazing


The Origin of the word Haze is unknown to the modern day world but studies show that this awful act of persecution, harassment and meaningless, difficult, or humiliating tasks has been around for thousands of years. Hazing can start as young as your first day of school and last well until graduating from college. Many hazers’ insist they continue the practice of hazing to develop group unity and instill respect for the organization in its new members, but this horrendous act is merely a cycle of abuse and should never be tolerated.
Hazing not only occurs in Fraternities and Sororities but in many places, it can be found in high schools, athletic teams, and even in the military with the people who serve and protect our country. It is so prevalent in the lives of people studies show that nearly eighty percent or eight out of ten college students and high school students have been hazed at some point in their schooling career (120,Nuwer).
