Many students enter college with the expectation of earning a high-paying job. Earning a college degree will guarantee that graduates find well paying jobs with opportunities for promotion, and benefits such as health care. Job applicants may consider the earning potential with reference to having earned a degree or not earning a degree. Increasingly, employers want applicants with higher education, hands-on work experience, and other qualifications and skills, such as Word Perfect, PowerPoint, Excel and bilingual knowledge. Experience is not enough, and a non-degreed applicants, or people with a high school diploma, will have a difficult time securing a higher paid job. College education can help better prepare applicants and lead to stable, long-term careers and a happy lifestyle. Degreed and non-degreed job applicants experience differences for earnings, opportunity, and health benefits.
