Pope Pius XII: Quiet and Effective bastion against NAZI Anti-Semitism
Auschwitz-Birkenau, Majdanke, Sobibor, Chelmno, Belzec, and Treblinka. Now, more than 60 years after the conclusion of hostilities signifying the end of World War II, these names still bring anguish to the Jewish community and the entire world. They bring to memory the atrocities committed by the National Socialist Workers’ Party (NAZI) during their reign of terror as the government of Germany. Following Germany’s defeat in World War I the Weimar Republic came into prominence. The Weimar Republic was born from the ashes that were World War I. It struggled greatly to fight inflation and sometimes-violent take over attempts while lacking strong support from the citizens of Germany.
