According to Zinn, the “responsibilities� of historians while writing history is approached with no prejudice and no bias towards a certain side to history. “To state the facts�(pg 8) is the main purpose of the historians when writing history and not omitting any facts. While writing history, a historian must “avoid emphasis of some facts� and ideological distortion. In this case, World War I and II is a good example of how a historian should do their job. While study this section in their textbook, some students develop a prejudice or root for a side of the war, the Allies or Central power. Even for some historian, they may lean to one side as well. When writing this information in the textbooks that we learn from today, the choice of words and emphasis on the certain side is completely neutral.
In addition, a historian should state facts on a historical event from the view point of others from different social classes, races, and nations. As Zinn states in Columbus,......
