The internet plays a key role in supply chain integration. However, there are differences between the two methods used by supply chain for business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) sites. B2B
Business to Business sites utilize the web for many reasons. Gathering information, collaborating, providing vendor support and communications, researching competitors, communicating internally, proving customer service and support, publishing information, purchasing products and services, and selling products and/or services are the main channels that B2B sites address.
