The war between Science and Religion
In 1859, there was a new light for human knowledge, as The Origin of Species, by Charles Darwin, was published. It is known to be one of the most important books in modern biology. The book states that man evolved from a lower species. This is also known as evolution.
Christianity is an enemy to evolution, as the Old Testament, aged approximately 3200 years old, assumes that a god created all life on Earth in its current form, but the only proof the Christians have is the Old Testament itself. Science and Religion have been battling each other ever since, one decent example of their battles was the Scopes Monkey Trial of 1925, occurring in Memphis, Tennessee. A man named John Scopes was arrested for teaching evolution in a high school, which had been illegal during this time period.
America’s society has been forever changed by science and religion. Today the debate still continues, as science keeps getting more evolved......
