Today most people enjoy hearing about the myths of pirates and how they existedin the 1500's. Most people don't realize that they exist today; they believe that they werejust a myth in stories and legends. Pirates exist now and more than ever. Although thereare many types of pirates, the kind that people think of the most were, pirates, privateers,buccaneers, and corsairs.

Pirates existed back more than 3000 years ago. True pirates stole from anyone; they couldn't resist the temptation to steal from the ships filled with gold, tobacco, silks and spices. Although stories and myths make a pirates life sound rich and glamorous, their lives weren't as cracked up to what they sound. They often were starving and died of disease. Besides pirates, there were privateers. Privateers were hired by other countries or the government to steal, or burn down enemy's ships. Buccaneers were a group of slaves, criminals, and refugees living in the Caribbean, and they also enjoyed attacking ships.......
