Robotics: The Gateway To The Future
Introduction
“ Robotics is the field of study concerned with developing and using robots. Robots are computer-controlled machines that mimic the motor activities of living things.” (O'Leary & O'Leary, 2007, p. 114). There are three types of robots. The three types of robots are perception system robots, industrial robots, and mobile robots. The history of Robotics can be traced as far back as 350B.C. and will carry on well into the future. From robots mopping floors to robotic arms performing complex brain surgery to robots for child’s play it is clear that robotics are truly a part of modern society. With the many advances in the robotics field and the fact that robots are already saving lives it is truly a gateway to a brighter future for all.
