Comparative Essay Between "The Road Less Traveled" And "Of Mice And Men"

Robert Frost is definitely among my favourite writers. "The Road
Less Traveled" is one of my all time favourite works. Similar to the
novel "Of Mice and Men" in its duality of simplicity and complexity.
To choose a single character in the book to compare to the poem is a
very difficult task. The obvious similarities between the narrator's
choice of physical paths, versus the metaphorical path George chooses
before the onset of the novel by taking, and keeping Lennie. The
contrast of course would be the path itself. To the narrator taking
"the other just as fair and perhaps having the better claim", and
George's choice of path with Lennie being the more tedious and
cumbersome journey ("God a'mighty, if I was alone I could live so
easy").

Of course one also has to mention the most stark contrast between
the narrator and Lennie. Lennie's character who is offered no choice,
but simply goes where he is lead. Although a similarity though very
subtle does ring......
