Shiloh Jones, undergoing labor pains, was ready to deliver her baby. She went to the hospital for her delivery but was rejected because she did not have insurance through her new job. Hours later her baby was pronounced dead. For Noel Davis it was the day he was booted out of Somecity Hospital, still on an IV after his operation, unable to pay his $10,000 medical bill and without insurance. For Leila Smith, it was the day when her 6 year old son was diagnosed with cardiomegaly and the hospital refused to perform a heart transplant because their insurance company did not cover this operation. People all over the United States are awakening to the fact that our current system of health care is a fiasco. If healthcare is acknowledged as a right, holistic health will be spread to all people regardless of an individual’s health or one’s need for medical care.
