Art is a word with infinite definitions and a horizon that can be explored on many different fronts. I tend to be drawn to oil paintings and especially ones that show nature scenes. There is a famous artist who passed away in the late 90's named Floyd Breinholt. One of his paintings in particular catches my fancy; it's called "Arches." It really captures the beauty of southern Utah and brings to life just how amazing the arches down there really are.

The shape of this arch is very interesting. The process of constructing a painting for Floyd Breinholt went way beyond just slapping paint on a canvas. For him the art process started much earlier. He would hike and explore around all over in the outdoors looking for the perfect display of nature at its best. This painting is not just any old hole in a rock, but rather one in my opinion with the perfect form; a beauty that you or I or anyone for that matter can't imitate, but rather an example of nature's beauty the way......
