Kinsey
The Oedipus complex which was derived from Freud in an essay published in 1935. His studies broke down the Oedipus complex have led many psychologists to criticize his thinking of the differences of sex especially to that of women. A basic summary of the Oedipus complex explains that in a child’s young stages of their life, they explore their bodies and develop ideas about sexuality. It states that boys in particular are attached to their mothers and want to rival their fathers. It also states that they want to be the object of feelings from their fathers as well. Another issue that arises from this is when the boy realizes he has a penis he thinks of that of a norm. When a boy understands or sees a vagina, he then thinks like he has something that she does not and in return has a pride or superiority over girls.
