What are the causes of Wal-Mart’s success, and is it really taking over the world?
The super chain started, in 1963, as a few tiny variety stores, created by Sam and Bud Walton in Rogers, Arkansas. The start-up was mainly funded by Sam and his wife Helen. After the success with the first few stores, more money was borrowed and more stores were built, creating the Wal-Mart empire we know today. In 1967 the twenty-four locations generated $12.6 million in sales; last year the company generated $312.4 billion in global revenue, establishing a new record, as stated by www.walmart.com.......
