Introduction
Exploring into the management jungle
usually becomes more effective if it is
intelligently directed. The mode of inquiry
should be in-depth yet simple to adopt.
Management literature is replete with
various models that may aid the manager in
the process of inquiry. Usually these models
tend to be analytical in character lacking the
scope of managerial creativity. Out of
various modes of inquiry the systemic
inquiry is considered to be more effective, as
it is considered to be holistic. Wolstenholme
(1990) has presented system dynamics as an
approach of system enquiry.
Another important feature of the
managerial inquiry is flexibility and
adaptability as per the changing
requirements. Systemic flexibility is
characterized by three keywords:
1 options;
2 change; and
3 freedom of choice (Sushil, 1997).
