Business Process Re-Engineering

The BPR strategy was designed to streamline the supply chain problems as well as address the strategic, tactical and operational policies of the supply chain. The strategic policy was identified as the need for the company to improve competitiveness. This was to be achieved through a tactical policy focusing on the interfaces with customers and suppliers, and improving the flow of material and information between them, thus enabling the regularizing of the order patterns placed on suppliers. The operational policy was aimed at JIT (Just in Time) procurement trough simplification of the reordering policies to minimize safety stock. The operational policy was extended to the delivery of finished good straight through the building sites.

The BPR (Business Process Reengineering) strategy was further split into four identifiable stages, designed to further improve efficiency of their supply chain by attacking specific bottlenecks in the system. The four Reengineering stages used......
