A mother and wife lie in her bed dying of a disease that there is no cure for. She has gone through all the treatments available, and while the treatments had success for a short time, none of them were able to save her life. So, the family is now forced to deal with the reality of losing her. They think, if there was only something more that could be done, they would willingly give their own lives in her place. But, as the doctors have said, there just isn’t enough research being done with controversial treatments that could possibly cure her disease. The research that these doctors speak of is embryonic stem cell research. This research could provide treatments for, “diseases including Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s diseases, spinal cord injury, stroke, burns, heart disease, osteoarthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis,” (“What”).
