The 'Taggerung' is the fourteenth book in the Redwall series by Brian Jaques and by far the best. This stunning adventure novel has a good plot, with a lot of humour, light-heartedness and excellent songs. Compared to the other Redwall books it is unique since it introduced issues that were never heard of in the other books. The appearances of old characters from previous books are also intriguing as the readers/we finally get to know what has become of them.
The main setting of the book is in Redwall Abbey, in Mossflower Wood. It is an old, red stone building inhabited by an assortment of forest animals. The animals are described skillfully with attention to various details like markings and are each of an individual character; they all have separate emotions and personalities. Jaques makes the dialogue more interesting by giving the different types of animals distinctive ways of talking.......
