Should The Nba And Nfl Draft Have The Same Requirements As The National Golfer's League And Other Low Impact Sports
After reading College or Pro Sports I was convinced that David Shields’ argument was sufficient enough to withstand judgment. He believes that the current age limit that is in place for the National Football League (NFL) should be abolished and the National Basketball Association (NBA) should be discouraged from adding one. He believes that the age limit is in place to discriminate predominately black athletics. He supports his assumptions by giving examples of other leagues where white athletes have little or no college education and laws aren’t being put in place to limit the age of these leagues and organizations. For example, “only 22 percent of the players in the National Hockey League (NHL) attended college”(qtd in Shields, David). He also suspects that they don’t want to jeopardize relations they have with the National Collegiate Athletic Association. Which is replica of the NBA and NFL but, athletes are unpaid.
