The male gender role is changing from repairing leaky pipes in the bathroom and replacing car mufflers in the yard, to cooking meals in the kitchen and changing diapers in the nursery. William Morassutti, an executive director of Toro Magazine, says, “Women are independent [and have] careers, so men pick up some [household] responsibilities.” Cooking, cleaning, and child rearing are no longer female only roles. Magazines advertisements and T.V. commercials are beginning to change their way of advertising in hopes of bringing out more male customers. They are doing this by simplifying diction and shortening commercials so that more men are likely to pay attention to the product being shown. Men are also working up the courage to enter the world of shopping alone, and in order to do so, they need to be coaxed out of their hiding places and brought into malls and stores that sell other products besides electronics and tools through new advertising techniques.......
