Kenyans History Report
Throughout history imperialism ruled for many centuries how ever after WW2 the collapse of imperialism started. The freedom that followed would result in both positive and negative effects for the people of those nations. Two imperialized nations that achieved independence from Europe after WW2 were Algeria and Kenya.
Under British control Kenya was dominated by European settlers who held control of the fertile highlands of central Kenya. The Kikuyu a local African ethnic group regarded this region as their homeland. The Europeans then banned all Africans from owning land. This discrimination started sparks between them and increased nationalism with the Kenyans. During the postwar period leader Jomo Kenyatta came from Great Britain to help battle for independence. By this time nationalistic feeling in Kenya were strong. The Kenya African Union was formed to help get independence and its president was Kenyatta.
