A Beautiful Mind
Everyone needs to feel accepted by society and a sense of self worth. This is why we care about other people’s opinions about ourselves, if not then we would never be embarrassed, or emotionally hurt by vicious rumors. We want Ron Howard, John Nash is socially inept. He is very awkward around people, and so to satisfy his need to feel accepted, he simply creates his own social circle. John Nash creates the characters Charles Herman and William Parcher to accommodate his need for his well-being and intelligence to be valued and appreciated.
Charles is invented to be the opposite balance to John’s sheltered, unsociable life of commitment to finding an original idea. He first appears when John has started graduate school at Princeton University. He is established as an excessively extravagant person as he walks through the door of John’s room and announces, “The prodigal roommate has arrived!” His reckless personality pries John away from his work when he has become......
