Dante Peak

In the film, Dante’s Peak, many unusual and unlikely things happened. The film was very inaccurate when it came to the effects of volcanoes. One major thing I noticed was that when the volcano erupted, ash, gas, and lava blew out of it. Realistically only lava and gas or ash and gas would come out of the volcano, not all three. Before the eruption, the scientist in the movie said that there was enough carbon dioxide in the air to kill trees and squirrels. When they showed this only one tree was dead, all the others were perfectly fine. When they showed the squirrels, they said that the carbon dioxide levels made them fall out of the trees and die. This is also unlikely because the fall from the trees would not kill them. When the volcano’s final explosion occurred, and large avalanche of ash came down the mountain wiping out everything in its way, it flattened trees and blew through the homes.
