“By 1976 with the death of Mao, the CCP could claim to have successfully created a new society that made life better for the Chinese people.” Discuss.

The CCP introduced a lot of reforms and ideas, including political, social, and economical. Their leader, Chairman Mao Zedong, initiated a great deal of these concepts, sometimes to the dismay of the Chinese population, and occasionally to the dismay of the members of his own party. The reforms that the CCP introduced in some cases were quite extreme and dissatisfactory, and even moved the party back rather than forwards.
From 1949, the CCP began the process of establishing its control of China. Anyone opposed was taken on by the PLA. By the end of 1950, the CCP was in the best condition it had ever seen. The CCP formed a ‘central committee’ consisting of 44 delegates, and at the head was the politburo. Mao declared the first years of the reign of the People’s Republic to be a transition to socialism, and throughout......
