The Vietnam War period; a time of chaos, destruction and uncertainty. A time when the country was in chaos itself, trying to make sense out of what some may have thought was a senseless war. In theory, this war very necessary. Although this was not the best time for the United States, our role in the Vietnam War, proved to be a vital one. The United States’ presence in Vietnam also proved that Americans was in fact concerned about the Vietnamese and in an effort to restore the broken country, was willing to do whatever it took to bring peace back to a third world country full of poverty, destruction, and division. During this period, the country saw five presidents take on as leaders against the war on communism in Vietnam. With each president having a different view on how to handle the ever going issues in Vietnam, each approach seemed to be making matters worse. As the war ended in Vietnam, communism did not.
