Gap Inc. is an apparel company with three distinct brands to its name, with a fourth in the works. These brands are targeted to different markets each at different price points. Old Navy, founded in 1994, is the brand with the lowest price point “providing inexpensive basic and trendy clothing for entire families in fun warehouse type shopping environments.”(Wells, Raabe 2005) This is one of the newer of the brands. Gap, started in 1969 by Donald and Doris Fisher, was the company’s main focus and biggest revenue stream. This brand is the medium price point and the one that started it all. In 1987 Gap went international opening its first store in England. In 1986 and 1990, GapKids and BabyGap were launched. In 1983, Banana Republic was bought as a safari inspired clothing line. A couple of years later when the fad died down, Gap Inc. repositioned BR to included a higher price basic apparel which is targeted to 20 and 30 something’s . Forth & Towne was now its latest......
