Winston Hubert McIntosh was born on October 19, 1944 in a small town called Grange Hill, Jamaica. His father was a preacher who was a father to many children that he neglected to acknowledge and take responsibility for. Winston did not meet his father until he was 10 years old. Winston did not speak very highly of his father and stated, "My father, James McIntosh, is a bad boy, a rascal. That's what him do for a living. He just go around and have a million-and-one children! Right now me have many brothers that me don't know"(Geocities). His mother did not play a roll in his life either. She left him to be raised by his aunt. His aunt just gave him just enough to get by which is what caused Winston to become independent and self-reliant.
Winston started playing instruments at a young age. The only lessons he had ever received were 6 months of piano lessons while attending fifth grade. He was a prodigy when it came to music teaching himself how to play the guitar and becoming so......
