According to the Encyclopedia “ drug addiction� is defined as “the progression of acute drug use to the development of drug-seeking behavior, the vulnerability to relapse, and the decreased, slowed ability to respond to naturally rewarding stimuli. The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM-IV) has categorized three stages of addiction: preoccupation/anticipation, binge/intoxication, and withdrawal/ that must have a negative affect on himself or society�. In laymen’s terms addiction is seen bad when harm is done to your self or others. For many decades the government has tried to put an end to drug addiction across the world. Although people have all sorts of addictions; someone can be addicted to reading the paper every morning, or watching his favorite football team every Sunday.
