Total Quality Management And Healthcare Industry
Abstract
Many of the issues faced by hospital administrators during the early 1900s remain relevant today. When total quality management fails to yield anticipated results, it is the hospital administrator who is than responsible for finding new strategies to address quality improvement. Therefore, some hospital administrators have turned to total quality management strategies that are not industry specific and have adopted such strategies. In this paper, a literature review of total quality management in healthcare organizations with regards to cross industry best practices and organizational culture will be examined. The In addition, a summary three total quality management practices and the impacts of such practices on hospitals outside of the United States of America will be summarized.
