Perception
Perception is a persons’ way of being able to understand the world around them. Perception is the process by which a person becomes aware of objects, events, and especially people through the five senses: sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing. A persons perceptions are a result from what exists in the outside world and from ones own personal experiences, desires, needs and wants, and loves and hatreds. Perception is a continuous series of processes that blend into one another; and can be broken down into five stages: stimulation, organization, Interpretation and evaluation, memory, and recall. The definition of perception states that, “Perception is a set of internal sensational cognitive processes of the brain at the subconscious layer that detects, relates, interprets, and searches internal cognitive information in the mind”.
