The Hunt
A huge adrenalin rush is a high like no other. One of the few ways to reach this emotion is the experience of hunting. The rush you receive from hunting is one of a kind. The new experiences of the hunt and cleaning your fresh kill are lessons every hunter must learn.
In the short story “Her First Elk” by Rick Bass the main character Jyl goes on a hunt early one morning. Jyl does not know what to expect, she does not even prepare for the hunt at all. On my first hunt I spent hours the night before preparing. As a young boy I had no idea what to expect.
The night before your first hunt you check your gear over and over. You lay your head on your pillow and try to sleep. The morning does not come soon enough. No mater how much you have prepared and talked to other hunters, you never truly know what to expect.
